The District Administration Jammu on Sunday took preventive measures and ordered deployment of special officers as preventive measure ahead of India-Pakistan clash in the World Cup 2019 being played in London.
"Police have been deployed. The administrative officers have also been asked to stay vigilant to prevent law and order problem in the sensitive areas of Jammu district," Ramesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, said.
The DC added that police personnel have been asked to remain alert and preventive measures are taken in order to maintain law and order and to avoid any untoward incident.
"We have taken the step as preventive measure,’’ a police officer added.
He said that cricket fans especially the youth, take out rallies amid shouts, which can create trouble and to prevent it, the deployment of officers has been made in and around the district.
However, many clubs, restaurants, hotels have made special arrangements for watching the game by installing large screens on their premises to entertain them besides offering special discounts on food and drinks.
